Principal Newsletter

Hello Spicewood Community!

What a Week, Panthers! ☔📚

Thank you for hanging in there with us through all of the rainy-day emails, schedule changes, and our great adventure of navigating Panther Picnic and the rain! We may have discovered the secret to making it rain in Austin—just schedule a schoolwide picnic! 😂 All joking aside, we were so happy to see so many of our families together this week. There was such a wonderful energy around campus, and it was especially sweet to see our students so excited to choose new books and fill their home libraries during the Book Fair. Thank you for helping make this week so special and for continuing to show up for our Panthers, rain or shine!

Just a reminder that there is no school next Friday or the following Monday.  Friday is a professional development day for our staff and Monday is a parent conference day.

Sincerely,

Melanie Solis

Great News: Our Chomp Saws Have Arrived!

Thanks to a generous PIE Foundation grant awarded to Mrs. Price, our new Chomp Saws are officially here!

Now, we need your help to put them to good use. We are collecting cardboard of any type—from cereal boxes to corrugated shipping boxes.

Please drop off your broken-down cardboard in the designated bucket in the front lobby. Thank you so much for supporting our students' creativity and hands-on learning!

5th Grade Class Gift

⚽ A Gift That Will Keep Us Moving! ⚽

We are so excited to share this year’s 5th Grade Class Gift! Over the summer, our soccer goals were unfortunately damaged beyond use, and our students quickly noticed their absence. Fifth graders asked about the goals often and shared how much they missed having the opportunity to play soccer during recess.

We are proud to announce that new soccer goals have been purchased and are ready for play! This is a gift that the entire school will enjoy for years to come, creating countless opportunities for students to play, connect, and have fun together. We celebrated this special gift with our fifth graders during recess this week with a special ribbon cutting ceremony and treat during recess. We are so grateful for a gift that will leave a lasting mark on Spicewood! ⚽🐾
