Spicewood Principal Newsletter
Hello Spicewood Families,
A huge thank you to all of our amazing parents for your enthusiastic participation in our recent events — from cheering on our students at the Homecoming Parade to supporting our Apex fundraiser. Your energy and involvement truly make a difference for our school community! We are so grateful for the time, encouragement, and generosity you pour into Spicewood. As we continue our Apex fundraiser, we’d love your help spreading the word so we can raise the funds needed to keep providing the wonderful opportunities, programs, and traditions that make Spicewood such a special place for students and staff alike.
Just a reminder that students will have a 4-day weekend! We will see everyone back on campus Wednesday!
One last thing! If your family is interested in joining Spicewood at Kalahari in October, the deadline to reserve a room is on September 24th. There is more information on the flyer at the bottom of this newsletter.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Melanie Solis

Or the new book they heard about on Book Talk Tuesday? Spicewood families have access to our daily Broadcast episodes, so you can be in the loop too! Click on the Broadast icon on Spicewood’s home webpage to tune-in. Here’s a photo of Mrs. Gros’ 2nd graders investigating science in our Outdoor Classroom after being reminded about the space on Wondering Wednesday.
Round Rock ISD is committed to the well-being of all our students. Round Rock ISD Board Goal Four measures student perceptions of Sense of Belonging, Safety at School, and Student Self-Efficacy. Since 2023, the district has used a survey from Panorama Education to help us understand these perceptions.
In previous years, parents could opt-out of this survey. However, with the passage of Senate Bill 12, your student must be opted-in for them to participate.
Our district values input from our community and we want to hear from your child(ren) so that we may learn about their experiences. While we encourage your student’s participation in the survey so that we use the data to make informed decisions about increasing our student’s sense of belonging in RRISD, we also believe in your right to make the choice that is best for your student and family.
On September 19, 2025, you should have received an email from Round Rock ISD with the subject line of “Action Required: Panorama Student Survey Consent” The link embedded in the email will take you to a form to either Opt-In or Opt-Out for your student’s participation in the Panorama Survey.
To review the questions on the survey, please click on the links below.
3rd-5th Grades: Student Perception and Climate
6th-12th Grades: Competencies and Climate
The survey will be administered during the weeks of October 6-17 (Fall Survey) and March 2-13 (Spring Survey). To give your consent for your student to take the survey, please make your selection by September 29, 2025.
Pack your bags and join other Panther families for a fun-filled weekend at Kalahari Resorts! Not only will you enjoy a memorable getaway, but a portion of each room rate will also be donated back to support our school.
For booking assistance, please reach out to Annie Livingston at fundraising@spicewoodpta.org.
