Hello Spicewood Families,
Thank you all for a great week! It’s always great to see our students settling into routines, making new friends, and embracing each day with excitement. Thank you for partnering with us to make Spicewood such a special place for children to learn and thrive.
Looking for a way to get involved at Spicewood Elementary? Here's your chance! Teachers need your help! You can volunteer as a literacy library helper. Teachers will be looking for volunteers at parent orientation Sept. 11th. Literacy Library helpers support teachers by choosing books from the literacy library for small reading groups, and reshelving those books when finished. If you are interested, then please let your classroom teacher know.

Peanut Butter Bowl
The Spicewood community really showed up to support the Peanut Butter Bowl! I cannot thank you enough for your continuous donations throughout the weeks and for having some fun with us for a great cause! Our campus brought in 1,055 jars of peanut butter plus online donations. The actual winners will be named next week but here are our in house results.
Our campus overall results are as follows:
1st Place- Mrs. Bindel's Class with 127 jars
2nd Place- Ms. Alvarado's Class with 106 jars
3rd Place- Ms. Vinta's Class with 93 jars
We also did an estimation challenge with our students:
1st Place- Mrs. Bell's Class with a guess of 1, 053 jars
2md Place- Mrs. Chronister's Class with a guess of 1,056 jars

Math Pentathlon
Calling all strategic thinkers, puzzles & games enthusiasts. Please fill out the following interest form if you wish to participate in the Math Pentathlon Tournament in 2026. We need 3 parent volunteers trained as game leaders, for each division, to start SWES Math Pentathlon Club.

Membership- Join Today!
One of the things that makes Spicewood so special is our incredible PTA — the Parent Teacher Association. Each year, our goal is to have at least one PTA membership for every Spicewood student, along with 100% participation from our staff. We’re excited to share that 98% of our staff have already joined! Now, we invite our families to partner with us by becoming PTA members and helping us reach our goal.
Our 1st General PTA meeting will be August 20th, at 6:00pm in the Library. We hope to see you there!

Panther Family Weekend at Kalahari
Pack your bags and join other Panther families for a fun-filled weekend at Kalahari Resorts! Not only will you enjoy a memorable getaway, but a portion of each room rate will also be donated back to support our school.

Panther Patrol Volunteers Needed
The Panther Patrol is a parent volunteer group that coordinates with Principal and Teachers to identify volunteer opportunites that engage the community in student mentorship and campus improvements.
Parents can sign up at any of our monthly days to spend the day at Spicewood helping teachers and administrators behind the scenes with anything ranging from landscaping, preparing activities for teachers, and much more!
