Spicewood Principal Newsletter
Hello Spicewood Families,
We had a wonderful first week of school at Spicewood Elementary! We are so proud of our returning and new Panthers and their positive attitudes this week at school. Special thanks to our teachers and staff for helping all of our students have a great first week!
Parents, I also want to thank you! We know there are many procedures to follow to help our school day flow smoothly. We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to work with our staff to make sure we are all on the same page for our students. Student safety is our first priority and we appreciate your help.
My Principal newsletter will be sent out every week on Friday at 5:00 pm. It will provide upcoming events, school-wide information, and everything you need to stay in the know at Spicewood! This is a new system for sending newsletters and one thing I have learned is that it works better if you click on the newsletter instead of just looking at the preview. Once you have clicked on the link, my newsletter can be translated into multiple languages.

Meet Our Counselor
Hello Spicewood Families! I am honored to be starting my 9th year as the School Counselor at Spicewood Elementary, and I'm so excited to see all of our returning students as well as meet our new-to-Spicewood students and parents this fall. Although I wear many hats on campus, the essence of my role is helping students overcome barriers and challenges so that they are able to participate in our school community in a healthy and productive way. I invite you to read more about what that means here on my website. Please reach out any time with questions about my services, or any concerns that may be impacting your child's ability to successfully engage in academic and/or social activities at school. As I am in and out of my office often, email is the best way to contact me initially.

Westwood's Peanut Butter Bowl!
Westwood football would like to invite you to team up with us for a great cause,the Peanut Butter Bowl — Feeding People Through Football — by collecting as many jars of peanut butter (or monetary donations - $2 = 1 jar of peanut butter) as possible before our season opener. It’s time to bring the heat before the first whistle blows with the Peanut Butter Bowl.
Please bring in new jars of peanut butter to the donation box located in the foyer at Spicewood. Let's show our Westwood Football Team some support and help collect jars for this great cause! There is a friendly competition between the elementary campuses so let's do this Spicewood!
PTA Corner
Membership- Join Today!
One of the things that makes Spicewood so special is our incredible PTA — the Parent Teacher Association. Each year, our goal is to have at least one PTA membership for every Spicewood student, along with 100% participation from our staff. We’re excited to share that 98% of our staff have already joined! Now, we invite our families to partner with us by becoming PTA members and helping us reach our goal.
Our 1st General PTA meeting will be August 20th, at 6:00pm in the Library. We hope to see you there!
Panther Patrol Volunteers Needed
The Panther Patrol is a parent volunteer group that coordinates with Principal and Teachers to identify volunteer opportunites that engage the community in student mentorship and campus improvements.
Parents can sign up at any of our monthly days to spend the day at Spicewood helping teachers and administrators behind the schenes with anything ranging from landscaping, preparing activities for teachers, and much more!
