Spicewood Principal Newsletter
Hello Spicewood Families,
It’s been a wonderful week at Spicewood! I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our amazing parent volunteers who supported our campus this week. Our gratitude goes to the garden committee and everyone who came out on Saturday to clean and prepare the beds for planting—special thanks to Ms. Cimo and Ms. Keating for leading the effort! I also want to thank the parents who volunteered during the book fair. It has been such a joy to see our students’ excitement as they discovered and selected new books.
This week we also celebrated School Custodian’s Day, and we are truly fortunate to have some of the best, hardest-working custodians in the business! Their dedication goes far beyond keeping our campus clean—thanks to their care, our classrooms are well-stocked, our spaces are safe and welcoming, and our school shines every single day. We are so grateful for their pride in their work and the countless ways they support students and staff behind the scenes.
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Melanie Solis

Hello Parents!
Our Specials and Spanish team will now be using ClassDojo to communicate with parents and families about events and activities going on in those class periods. You should receive an invitation to join a class from Mrs. Price, our Instructional Technology Specialist. This is not spam. Please note that ClassDojo is free, but there is a subscription offer for ClassDojo Plus that may pop-up.
Parents are under no obligation to purchase the subscription - everything you need to communicate with your child's teacher is free. There will be a "Skip" button or an "X" button to close and bypass any in-app ads for ClassDojo Plus.
If you, as the parent, signed up for a 7-day free trial of ClassDojo Plus but did not cancel your subscription, you will be charged at the end of the trial using the payment method that you provided when purchasing the subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time by following these steps: How to Cancel your ClassDojo Plus Subscription.
We are gathering information on the holidays our Spicewood students celebrate and observe. Our goal is to acknowledge and showcase the variety of celebrations important to our population via Broadcast throughout the school year.
If interested, we will also be collecting videos and photos from families about a celebration important to them. PBS Learning Media has quality “All About the Holidays” clips, but we would love to see how YOU celebrate!
Fill out this survey to help us know which holidays our student population celebrates!
