Hello Spicewood Families,

Welcome back, Spicewood families, and Happy New Year! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful and joyful winter break. It has been a great first week back, and our students and staff have jumped right back into the swing of learning with energy and focus. The spring semester is always a busy and exciting time, so please be sure to read through the newsletter carefully to stay informed about upcoming events, important dates, and opportunities to stay connected with our campus.

Over the fall and winter break, Spicewood was proud to receive new classroom furniture as part of the 2024 Bond. Our campus was updated with new desks, tables, and chairs for both students and teachers. Having uniform, updated furniture has greatly enhanced the look and feel of our classrooms, creating welcoming, organized learning spaces that support both comfort and instruction.

A Beautiful Week in our Garden!

This week, our garden experienced a lot of interaction from our K-5 students! Whether we were harvesting broccoli, observing caterpillars, or learning about the tendrils of pea plants, Spicewood students got some hands-on play on these beautiful days. Check out a few photos from third graders’ soil investigation and from a first grade class measuring the sundial’s perimeter with yarn!

Starting January 8, 2026, families can complete returning student forms for the 2026–27 school year. You’ll receive an email with your student’s Snapcode. Follow the instructions to quickly and securely complete the forms. Calling all word wizards! Registration for this year’s School Spelling Bee is open through January 16th. Students will compete in two groups: Kindergarten–2nd grade and 3rd–5th grade. Come join the excitement and cheer on our amazing spellers!

The Panther Patrol is a parent volunteer group that coordinates with Principal and Teachers to identify volunteer opportunites that engage the community in student mentorship and campus improvements.

Parents can sign up at any of our monthly days to spend the day at Spicewood helping teachers and administrators behind the scenes with anything ranging from landscaping, preparing activities for teachers, and much more!
