Last Day of School Schedule - 12/18/25

There will be a Fine Arts Winter Showcase the last day of School. There will be no backpacks on this day. Drawstring bags are allowed. 

 
 
 
 
 

Cooler Temps and Morning Drop Off

With the chillier weather we want to remind parents that doors open for students at 7:45am. Please make sure students are dressed for the weather if you drop them off before the doors open. 

 

Library Announcements

The RMS Library will be hosting a special holiday event this year -- A Cardboard Gingerbread House Decorating Contest! All entries are due Monday, December 15th! Students can check their student email for more details and contest rules. A grand prize winner from each grade level will be selected and will receive a special prize!

 

Counseling Corner: 

We have several exciting opportunities coming up for our 8th graders as they begin preparing for high school!

Cedar Ridge Counselors will visit with 8th grade students during Advisory January 7-8. 

Early College High School Presentation
Representatives from Early College High School will be on campus to present to our 8th grade students on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 8:15–9:10 a.m. in the cafeteria.

TAG Referral Window Now Open!

The TAG (Talented and Gifted) Referral Window is officially open! Parents of any RRISD student not currently identified as GT can refer their child for TAG testing during the referral period from November 10 – December 12.

TAG testing will take place from January 12 – February 27.

RRISD Dress Code Reminders

RRISD Dress Code

Students Must Wear:

  • Clothes that fully cover breasts, nipples, genitals, and buttocks with opaque (not see-through) fabric

  • Shirt that covers from under the arms to the waistband one’s front, back, and sides with at least one strap over shoulder(s)

  • Bottom: Pants/sweatpants/shorts/skirt/dress/leggings

  • Footwear

Students May Wear:

  • Head covering/ hoodie sweatshirt (face must be visible unless for religious purposes)

  • Tank tops/spaghetti straps

  • Fitted pants, including leggings or yoga pants

  • Clothing with holes, as long as underwear is not exposed

Students Cannot Wear:

  • Any accessory that may pose a safety hazard - i.e. metal-studded jewelry, chains that may potentially cause harm, wheels on shoes

  • Sunglasses (unless for medical reasons)

  • Language or images that are lewd, offensive, risqué, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, provocative, or that convey hate messages or racially, religiously, or ethnically demeaning messages

  • Language or images that depict tobacco products, drugs/alcohol or promote violence, weapons, bombs, or any illegal activity
