Chromebook Refresh – August 19–21

Thanks to our community’s support, the Fall 2024 bond to upgrade aging technology was approved. A large portion of these funds has been used to purchase new student devices.

Device Exchange Schedule
Students will exchange their current Chromebook during their social studies class on the following days:

  • Tuesday, August 19 – 8th Grade

  • Wednesday, August 20 – 7th Grade

  • Thursday, August 21 – 6th Grade

Please ensure your student brings their current Chromebook.

Chargers

  • New chargers will not be issued during this refresh.

  • Broken charger: Exchange for free on refresh day — bring the broken charger with the Chromebook.

  • Lost charger: Replacement cost is $15.00.

    • Pay online before the exchange (additional $1.50 processing fee applies)

    • Or pay by cash/check in the front office

    • Bring receipt to pick up the charger..

Counseling Corner

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue working through the scheduling process.

Our counselors are diligently reviewing all schedule change requests to ensure students are placed appropriately and that class sizes remain balanced. At this time, our top priority is resolving schedules for students who are missing a core class or have duplicate courses. As we continue to balance classes, please note that some students may receive a schedule change—even if one was not specifically requested.

Due to high enrollment, most of our elective courses are currently full. The electives with remaining availability at this time include:

  • Athletics (7th and 8th grade only)

  • Band

  • Orchestra

  • Choir

  • Wellness (6th grade only)

  • Sports Fit Education (7th/8th grade)

  • Pre-Athletics (6th grade only)

RRISD Dress Code Reminders

RRISD Dress Code

Students Must Wear:

  • Clothes that fully cover breasts, nipples, genitals, and buttocks with opaque (not see-through) fabric

  • Shirt that covers from under the arms to the waistband one’s front, back, and sides with at least one strap over shoulder(s)

  • Bottom: Pants/sweatpants/shorts/skirt/dress/leggings

  • Footwear

Students May Wear:

  • Head covering/ hoodie sweatshirt (face must be visible unless for religious purposes)

  • Tank tops/spaghetti straps

  • Fitted pants, including leggings or yoga pants

  • Clothing with holes, as long as underwear is not exposed

Students Cannot Wear:

  • Any accessory that may pose a safety hazard - i.e. metal-studded jewelry, chains that may potentially cause harm, wheels on shoes

  • Sunglasses (unless for medical reasons)

  • Language or images that are lewd, offensive, risqué, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, provocative, or that convey hate messages or racially, religiously, or ethnically demeaning messages

  • Language or images that depict tobacco products, drugs/alcohol or promote violence, weapons, bombs, or any illegal activity

District Bus Transportation

Beginning Monday, September 1st students will be required to have a SMART tag OR a Round Rock ISD Transportation One-Day SMART tag Permit in order to ride the bus home. As a reminder, students may only ride their assigned bus to and from their assigned stop.
