This school year, the Austin Spurs have extended their Attendance Incentive Program to Live Oak! Every 9 weeks, we have our Perfect Attendance Awards. Students that receive a perfect attendance award will now also be given the chance to attend an Austin Spurs game for free, and a heavily discounted rate will be given for family/friends that join them.
Along with their perfect attendance award certificates, there will be a flyer with instructions on how to claim the complementary ticket and discounted rates for family/friends. So, if your student is awarded perfect attendance, keep an eye out for the flyer if you're interested!
The month of October is designated as National Bullying Prevention Month. National Bullying Preventions' Unity Day, observed on October 22, is a day to stand together against bullying and sends a visible message of building commUNITY through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Our district is proud to participate by encouraging all students and staff to wear orange or your school colors as a unified display of support for a bully-free community.
National Bullying Prevention Month is a time for everyone to:
UNITE: It is important to amplify the unified message that no one deserves to be bullied and all students deserve to feel safe and supported and to inspire everyone to act with kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
RAISE AWARENESS: Talking about bullying prevention helps build understanding. All schools, organizations, and communities are encouraged to widely share and post information about how to prevent bullying in their communities. Partners will be listed on PACER’s bullying prevention website and will have access to resources to get involved at their schools or in their community.
LEARN: It’s empowering to know what to do when you see or experience bullying. Everyone can access the free web-based resources that can be used by schools, parents, and students to better understand opportunities to prevent bullying. Educational opportunities include interactive websites, classroom toolkits, and contests.
TAKE ACTION: Actions have impact. Educators can access and share the free toolkits for student-led activities and downloadable posters and other visual displays, as well as bookmarks and other promotional items. Parents can visit PACER’s bullying prevention websites with their children. Communities can participate in Unity Day or Run, Walk, Roll Against Bullying events.
We’re excited to invite you to our i-Ready Bootcamp for Families on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
This session will help you better understand how i-Ready supports your child’s learning in reading and math—and how you can help them succeed at home!
Location: Live Oak Elementary School Library
Times: 7:45 AM or 5:30 PM (choose the session that works best for you)
Come learn valuable tips, explore i-Ready tools, and see how this program helps your child grow throughout the year.

I promise to do my best to treat everyone fairly.
I promise to do my best to be kind to everyone—even if they are not like me.
If I see someone being hurt or bullied, I will tell a teacher.
I will help others to feel safe and happy at school.
I will be part of making my school No Place for Hate.

Medication Reminders
ALL MEDICATIONS, both prescription and over the counter (including cough drops), must be kept in the clinic and have a medication form completed.
Please contact the nurse if your student has an Anaphylaxis Action Plan and epipen, Asthma Action Plan and inhaler, or Seizure Action Plan and a rescue medication.
All needed forms can be found on the RRISD Health Services website.
Please keep your student home if they have a temperature of 100 or greater, are vomiting, or have diarrhea. Students must be fever free, without the use of fever reducing medication, for 24 hours before they can return to school. Please report all communicable diseases to the campus nurse, as this information is helpful in preventing the spread of illness in the school. Some examples include strep, flu, pink eye, chickenpox, impetigo, scarlet fever, and covid.
Immunizations must be up to date with either age appropriate immunizations or an appropriate exemption on file to start school. If your student is on a catch up plan, you will need to maintain up to date records with the school nurse to avoid being excluded from school. Please contact Nurse Lisa with any questions at 512-428-3804.
Please keep a change of clothes in your child’s backpack to prevent having to bring clothes up to the campus, if needed. Spills, tears, and accidents happen at all ages and the clinic has limited clothing and may not have something in your child’s size.
Please report ALL student absences using the "Report An Absence" button on our website at: https://liveoak.roundrockisd.org/ Absences reported through this button are forwarded directly to the Attendance Specialist, Jessica Morehead. She will then be able to excuse the absence based on the reason. Absences are only excused for illness, the death of an immediate family member, and a few other extenuating circumstances such as religious holy days. If your child is absent 5 or more consecutive days, a doctor’s note will be required to excuse the absences.
The front office will mark student absences in the PikMyKid app, so don't worry about marking absences in that app. Absences marked in PikMyKid (as well as noted on TalkingPoints) do not get reported to the Attendance Specialist. Thank you!

Pikmykid allows only TWO guardians to be associated with a student. If you need to authorize more people to pick your student up, learn how to delegate by reading below!
Make sure anyone who is picking up your student is delegated in Pikmykid.
SMART tags are required for those students riding the bus. Each student receives their first SMART tag free of charge. When tags are lost, the replacement fee is $5.00 plus $1.50 service charge and can be ordered here. The fee for replacement tags for students receiving reduced lunch benefits is $2.00 plus $1.50 service charge and there is no fee for a replacement SMART tag for students receiving free lunch benefits. For more information on SMART tags, please visit the transportation website here.
Parents of bus riders can set up SMART Alert text notifications with the SMART Tag parent portal. Parents will need their child’s student ID number, school name, date of birth, and an email address to register. When registered, parents can set up their account to receive “SMART Alert” text messages notifying them that their child is 10-15 minutes from his or her bus stop. Additionally, parents will receive important information regarding bus routes in the case of changes or significant delays.
For more information regarding SMART Tag, please go to https://transportation.roundrockisd.org/smart-tag/
Please label students jackets, water bottles, lunch boxes so we don’t have an excess of items in the lost and found.
