A weekly update from Mandy Masters, Principal at Laurel Mountain Elementary - Vol. 1, Issue 3
Hello LME Family!
What a joyful first week it was at Laurel Mountain! Our hallways, classrooms, and playgrounds were filled with smiles, laughter, and the sound of students getting to know one another. It was such a gift to watch teachers and students begin building the strong connections and supportive communities that will carry them through the year.
I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our families and staff for your patience and cooperation during arrival and dismissal. Your attention to safety, especially as we fine-tuned our dismissal procedures, made a world of difference in keeping our students safe and our processes running smoothly.
I am excited to see the incredible things we will accomplish together this year!
Action Requested: I’d love to hear from you - what makes LME such a special, maybe even magical, place for you and your family? Please share your thoughts with me using this form.

Picking up your student early? Please arrive before 2:15 PM to sign your child out. After this time, it makes it really hard to locate students and get them to the office before dismissal. The front office staff appreciates your cooperation!
PLEASE DON'T FORGET YOUR SIGN FOR STUDENT PICK UP!
Please use your family’s pick-up sign every day. Car riders - place it in your front window. Walker parents - hold it where we can see it. This helps us call for your student quickly and keeps dismissal running smoothly. Let your student's teacher know if you need a new sign. Thank you!
This week, TEA released school ratings, and I am so proud of the work we do at Laurel Mountain! The success of our campus is the result of the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff, and families working together for our community.
At the same time, we know these ratings are only one measure of what makes LME special. The true heart of our school is found in the joy of learning, the connections we build, and the curiosity we nurture every day.
School Lunch Info (add funds to myschoolbucks and add notes for what you would and would not like for your student to buy)
Parent Pick Up Authorization Form (for anyone who is not a parent/guardian to pick up your student)
At LME, our value of PLAY is an essential part of learning - and no one brings it to life more than our Specials Team! Our Art, Music, and PE teachers help students explore creativity and expression through artwork, song, and movement. Each day, they create joyful opportunities for students to learn, grow, and connect through play.
Laurel Mountain is an inclusive community centered on empowering the heart and mind of every learner.
