We are having a great time at Running Club again this school year!  If you are looking for somewhere to volunteer, we would love for you to come help us monitor students in the mornings during their club time. You will need to be an approved volunteer and may do this  by signing up through the district website: https://partners.roundrockisd.org/volunteer/.

Sign up here to volunteer for Running Club!

Running Club is open every morning from 7:20 to 7:35 (weather permitting)-ALL GRADES.

 Students will:

~ wear tennis shoes

~drop their belongings in their classroom

~ eat breakfast either at home or cafeteria

~ line up at the double doors by the cafeteria and wait for an adult to cross them to track

~ on track- can walk (stay on right-outside)  or run (stay to left-inside)

~ when finished, will cross with an adult back to the building; all students will return to the building for class by 7:35am.

If you have questions, contact Kelly_Benson@roundrockisd.org.

UIL A+ Academics is a program designed to challenge and inspire elementary students (grades 2–5) through academic competition. Offered by the University Interscholastic League (UIL), this program includes a variety of events that develop critical thinking, creativity, and academic skills across subjects like math, reading, writing, spelling, storytelling, and more. Students compete individually or as part of a team, building confidence, teamwork, and a love of learning along the way. UIL A+ is a fun and enriching way for your child to explore their talents and grow both academically and personally!

Information about the individual UIL events is below. By registering your child you are committing to your child's participation in all practices (usually held one day per week after school) and at the McNeil Learning Community UIL Competition on Saturday, January 31, 2026 (if your child qualifies).

Once you register, a permission form will be sent home for you to complete and sign.

Connect with our Second Step SEL Curriculum

2nd grade

Round Rock ISD utilizes the Second Step program as a Social-Emotional Learning curriculum. The lessons help children learn human skills such as responsible decision-making, working together to solve problems, managing strong emotions, and getting along with others. These skills can help children succeed academically and socially. Our first Second Step units began this week. For each grade, there is a Home Link flyer with more information about the lesson themes and things to try at home to support this important learning. Click the links here to access Home Links for your child's grade.
