Today we held our first Eagle Pride celebration of the year! Eagle Pride is a special award we give to students who go above and beyond with our school-wide expectations of being Safe, Respectful and Responsible. To show off these special role models, we honor them at a monthly all-school assembly. Thanks to all the friends and parents who were able to join us today!
Today also marks the end of the first quarter of the school year. Report cards will be available next week in the Home Access Center (HAC) and via hard copy. Our students made incredible progress toward many of their goals this quarter. Be sure to schedule your Fall Parent/Teacher Conference to get all the information on your child's progress, if you haven't already. Monday, October 13th is a designated conference day and no school for students.
Join us next Thursday Night for 4th and 5th-grade Fine Arts Night! Our oldest students' amazing showcase starts at 6:00pm.
I've been reminded a few times this week how amazing students are! Thank you for sharing your Eagle Pride and Future Eagle Pride winners with us! It's an honor and privilege to be part of their elementary school journey.

UIL A+ Academics is a program designed to challenge and inspire elementary students (grades 2–5) through academic competition. Offered by the University Interscholastic League (UIL), this program includes a variety of events that develop critical thinking, creativity, and academic skills across subjects like math, reading, writing, spelling, storytelling, and more. Students compete individually or as part of a team, building confidence, teamwork, and a love of learning along the way. UIL A+ is a fun and enriching way for your child to explore their talents and grow both academically and personally!
Information about the individual UIL events is below. By registering your child you are committing to your child's participation in all practices (usually held one day per week after school) and at the McNeil Learning Community UIL Competition on Saturday, January 31, 2026 (if your child qualifies).
Once you register, a permission form will be sent home for you to complete and sign.
Click here to learn about and apply for Free or Reduced lunch. This form must be completed every year, so be sure to fill it out even if your child received services last year. We recommend every family fill out the form as the qualifiers often change. It is a quick and easy process and you don't want to miss out on savings!
