Good news! Big changes are coming to our front playground area! Please read below for the update

The 2026 RRISD Climate Survey closes this weekend: Sunday, March 1st. Please take a few minutes to provide feedback and help guide our campus goals!

Join us tonight for the Neon Nights Dance from 6:00-7:30 in the FNE cafeteria! Wear your favorite white or neon colors. FREE Popcorn and Water will be served. Pizza and drinks available for purchase. **Note: This is not a drop-off event. All students must be accompanied by an adult. There is no staff supervision.**

We also hope to see 2nd and 3rd-grade families for Fine Arts Night next Thursday!

Good News! Forest staff and families have been working for months with Rounds Rock ISD to take action and increase the security of our building and property. Results are happening next week with Phase 1 of a fencing project! Beginning Monday, March 2, the front of our school and playground area will be updated with a new, taller fence, a new fence configuration and locking gates. This will provide greater security to students as they enjoy the outdoors at recess, and we are grateful for the improvements.

This is a change for our community after hours, however, as the playground space will remain closed and locked at all times, limiting community access on the weekends and holidays. We prefer having open play space access for our families, but understand that the priority must be student safety during the school day. We are inquiring about the possibility of somehow opening the gates over the weekend or outside of school hours, but until then, and beginning Monday, the playground area will be closed to families and the community. You will see the fencing construction happening Monday through Wednesday next week and recess will be relocated to the back field during that time. 

More fencing is expected for Phase 2, most likely happening this summer, and includes improvements in perimeter fencing and new entry/exit gates for vehicles. We also have many RRISD Bond projects happening this summer! We look forward to installing new playground equipment, new ceilings and new tile flooring throughout our building. Hooray! We are grateful that our community voted in the recent bond election and said YES to improvements at Forest North!  

On Monday, January 26th, the 2026 Round Rock ISD climate survey link was emailed to the primary parent/guardian on file for all RR students. The survey is short, mobile-friendly, and takes less than five minutes to complete.

Families with more than one child in Round Rock ISD schools received a separate email for each child. Please complete one survey per child. The survey will be open through Sunday, March 1st.

Principals are eager to gather your feedback and produce the best possible academic and social experiences for students. Survey results from previous years have been instrumental in driving lasting changes, including:

          - Increased funding to promote student social and emotional learning initiatives

          - Developing and designing classes for parents,

          - Measuring the effectiveness of specific initiatives and

          - Helping schools identify particular areas of need and improvement goals.

"No Fuss" Fundraiser

Our spring "No Fuss" Fundraiser is in full swing! Thank you to everyone who has already contributed. We are halfway to our $5,000 goal!  If you haven't given yet and you would like to, you can give online, send cash/check in an envelope (payable to Forest North Elementary PTA) to your student's teacher, or GIVE IN PERSON at the DANCE TONIGHT! Give your donation at the concession stand (cash/check/card/apple/google pay)!

Reminder: All students who participate will be entered to win a FREE WOOM BIKE! We'll celebrate as a school when we reach our $5,000 goal! 

It's time to order your yearbook- deadline is coming!

Your copy of the Forest North Elementary School yearbook includes two FREE custom pages you may personalize with your photos and your memories. The deadline to order your yearbook and make it your own is March 25. 

Recognition Ads (that go out in every yearbook) are also available for purchase - deadline April 18. $15 for 1/8 page and $30 for 1/4 page
