What a fantastic first week of school! Thank you for sharing your amazing kids with us and trusting us with their care. We have loved seeing them again, meeting them for the first time and welcoming our families back to school! The teachers and students worked hard this week to get to know each other, build their classroom communities and learn our school values and expectations. Ask your child how many times they heard "Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible" (our school-wide values and expectations) this week! We hope all our students already feel connected, supported and loved at school.
Have a wonderful weekend and see you Monday for the first full week of school.
Aug 25: PTA's Spirit Night at P. Terry's, 4-8
Sept 1: No School, Labor Day holiday
Sept 2-12: Apex Fundraiser
Sept 5: Grandparents' Day Lunch
Sept 12: Apex Fun Run
We are looking forward to Running Club again this school year! During club time, students walk or run around the track for before school starts. This gives them an opportunity to get some fresh air, exercise and socialize before school starts. It gets their brains ready for learning!
Running Club will be every morning from 7:20 to 7:35 (weather permitting).
Students will:
wear tennis shoes
drop their belongings in their classroom
eat breakfast either at home or cafeteria
line up at the double doors by the cafeteria and wait for an adult to cross them to track
on track- can walk (stay on right-outside) or run (stay to left-inside)
when finished, will cross with an adult back to the building; all students will return to the building for class by 7:35am.
Start date for grades 1-5: August 26th
Start Date for Kindergarten: Sept 2
We are seeking parent volunteers to help us monitor students in the mornings during Running Club. Sign up to be an RRISD-approved volunteer here: https://partners.roundrockisd.org/volunteer/
If you have any questions, contact Kelly Benson, PE coach, at Kelly_Benson@roundrockisd.org
We are looking forward to another great year! The goals of the Forest North Parent Teacher Association (PTA) are to build community and provide funding to the school. We do this through community events, FREE t-shirts for every student (going home next week!), fundraising, and volunteerism. Special funding projects include field day, classroom grants, field trips, fine arts night, staff appreciation events, and more!
We would love to help you get more involved in our amazing Forest North Community! You can show your support by joining PTA or buying a t-shirt on our School Store. Have you already purchased a shirt? Orders will be delivered via your child's teacher next week.
Back to School Spirit Night - Monday, Aug 25, 4-8pm, P. Terry's
Come hang out with friends, or hit up the drive through, at P. Terrys on August 25th! P. Terry's is generously donating a portion of all proceeds from 4-8pm to the FNE PTA (no code needed).

Grandparents are invited to join us for lunch on Friday, September 5th in celebration of Grandparents' Day! Please use this form to RSVP to the event so we know how many to expect and can order extra food. RSVP deadline is August 25.
Lunch will be at the students' regular lunchtimes. Ask your child's homeroom teacher if you need to know the class lunchtime.
Please advise all visitors to bring their photo ID as everyone will be badged in through the front office. No visitors will be allowed inside the building without a badge.
Arrive early! It takes a few minutes to check in, especially when there is a crowd. Our lunch periods are short and you don't want to miss them! Plan in advance to arrive early.
The price for an adult meal in the cafeteria is $4.50. If you'd like to order a tray, please use the RSVP form and bring exact change. The cafeteria staff do not accept credit/debit cards.
We look forward to celebrating this special day with our students!
Getting our students home safely is a top priority at Forest North, so we need an End of Day Transportation form on file for each student. Use this form to let us know how to release your student at the end of the day. We must have this information in writing and will not release students alternatively without updated written permission from you. Please submit the form as soon as you can and before the first day of school. Here are some special notes:
Car-Riders
Our dismissal time is 2:55 for car-riders. Forest North utilizes the iDismiss system for the car rider line and parent walk-up area. All FNE families receive a 3-digit family dismissal code, which you (and/or the other adults you authorize) will present upon pick up to receive your child. The code is yours for the entire school year, so save it on your phone or memorize it. It would be helpful to display this paper with code on your car dashboard, but you can always let a staff member know your number verbally if you don't have the paper. No students will be released to any adults who do not know your family's code.
Parent Pick Up
Parents can also park and/or walk up to the front of the building for student pick-up. These parents will also use their 3-digit iDismiss code to receive their child. (These students should not be listed as walkers). No students will be released to any adults in the pick up area who do not know your family's code.
Walkers
Students who walk or ride a bike home will be escorted to the crosswalk near the front playground and walked across the bridge for dismissal into the neighborhood.
Please help us get everyone home safely by observing our street safety rules at dismissal. Use the crosswalks when walking around campus and observe our 10 mph speed limit. Thank you for your help keeping our community safe!
Round Rock ISD provides free bus service for students who live more than two miles from their assigned school and for students who live within two miles but along a route defined as “hazardous” to walkers or bike riders. Check here to see if you qualify for bus transportation: https://www.infofinderi.com/ifi/?cid=RR04523987.
If your child is bus-eligible, you must use the SMART tag Parent Portal to initiate services before he/she can ride. Create an account to view bus assignments, routes and pick up/drop off times.
Times posted in the SMART tag system reflect the expected time the bus should arrive during good weather. Inclement weather or traffic congestion may cause the route to run later than the posted time. We ask that all students be at their bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled time to avoid missing the bus. At the beginning of the year, expect delays as routes are being organized and more students added.
The SMART Tag system records when students load and unload the bus, providing real-time information to the District transportation department, and you, the parent. In just three easy steps, the SMART Tag electronic bus transportation system ensures that students get on the right bus and get off at the right stop.

Replacement cards can be requested through the campus office by calling 512-464-6750. There is a $5.00 fee plus $1.50 service fee to replace Smart tag cards. There is no fee for replacement Smart Tags for students who qualify for free and reduced lunch. A note will also go home with students notifying guardians that the student's Smart Tag has been lost. Payments for replacement tags can be made at the following link:

Replacement cards include the Smart tag and clear plastic sleeve. A lanyard, badge reel or zip tie are not included.
