Hello, Coyote Families!

We have had a wonderful week back from Thanksgiving break, and our campus is truly full of excitement and positive energy. One highlight has been our cafeteria reset. Students have responded so positively. They have enjoyed coloring, drawing, playing board and card games, building puzzles, reading books, and spending time socializing in meaningful and fun ways. It has been such a welcome shift that has added joy and connection to our lunch periods.

This week, we also had the honor of celebrating our incredible teachers who applied for and received PTA funded grants. Yesterday, we presented each grant winner with their certificates and supplies. We are grateful for our PTA’s support and so proud of the innovative ways our teachers continue to serve students.

Arrival and Dismissal Safety Reminders

School Zone Speeds:
We have noticed an increase in speeding through our school zones. Please be cautious and obey the posted speed limit when driving. Slowing down keeps everyone safe.

Morning car rider lines: Please pull up all the way up so we can fit more vehicles in both the front and back to drop off students.

Crosswalk Safety:
Please do not park in or block crosswalks. Use crosswalks to cross the street and follow the directions of our staff and crossing guards.

School Bus Rules:
Never pass a school bus when its flashers are on, or the stop sign is extended. Children may be crossing the street.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Locations:
Students should only be dropped off and picked up at the designated areas in the front or back of the school. Please do not drop off or pick up students near the portables on the east or west side of the campus, near the marquee, or along the side of the road.

1. Attendance and Tardies: To give all students the best start, we are reinforcing the importance of being on time. Instruction begins at 7:35 am. Please make sure your student arrives punctually so they don't miss out on important instruction, and we can maintain a consistent start to the school day.

2. Early Pick-Up Reminder: If you need to pick up your student before the 2:55 p.m. dismissal bell, please plan to check them out no later than 2:20 p.m. After 2:20, we are unable to accommodate early check-outs. The end of the day is a very busy time, as our front office team is actively communicating with teachers and ensuring all dismissal changes are handled promptly and safely.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  Dismissal:

   • Please avoid cell phone use while in the pick-up line to help us keep everyone safe and attentive.

   • Teach your student how to buckle up independently so we can keep the line moving smoothly. We’re unable to pause for each student to be buckled in by an adult.

   • Please do not skip lines — this disrupts our number system and slows down the process for everyone.

   • Please remain in your vehicles and wait for your student to walk out to you

3. Visitor Procedures
   All visitors must present a valid ID when entering the campus to receive a visitor’s pass. This helps us maintain a safe and secure environment for all students. Please do not open the door for the person behind you. We want to ensure they show their ID and enter appropriately. We appreciate the support!

If you are looking for a fun holiday experience, Cedar Ridge High School Theatre Department is putting on their 2nd annual Holiday Spectacular this weekend Friday, December 5th and Saturday, December 6th. The experience starts with holiday themed "lands" like Santa's Workshop (Santa will be there), Winter Wonderland, Nutcracker, Gingerbread Land and more. There will be lots of fun activities for kids and lots of photo ops. The themed lands are open from 6:00 - 7:15 pm. Then, the theatre students will put on a Spectacular Holiday show on the stage with songs, dancing, holiday karaoke and more. There are some of our own Forest Creek students in the show!

Join your student at their class party on December 18th. We hope you're looking forward to the fun as much as we are! Be sure to RSVP to ensure we have your visitors badge ready. 

3rd–5th grade students who are interested in joining Crafting for a Cause can sign up using this link or the QR code in the image. Applications are due December 18th.

Mrs. Kaiser is also looking for approved parent/guardian volunteers to help the club run smoothly. If you’re able to assist, please indicate that on the form. All volunteers must complete the RRISD volunteer form before working with students.

Our Forest Creek Live Broadcast Team is looking for enthusiastic fifth graders who are interested in helping share the morning news with our school. If you enjoy being on camera, working behind the scenes, or helping with technology, we would love to have you on the team. Interested students can sign up here!
