Good evening, Coyotes!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and restful spring break. I enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and doing a little traveling, but I also missed our school community and was so glad to welcome everyone back on campus.
We have hit the ground running with instruction and hard work, and I want to thank our students for jumping right back in and giving their best as we begin the final eight weeks of the semester. This time of year always brings a strong focus, and it has been great to see that energy across our classrooms.
We have quite a few items in our lost and found. We encourage families to stop by the campus to take a look before items are donated to a local shelter.
Happy spring! We hope you enjoy this beautiful weather and have a wonderful weekend ahead.
Best,
Briana Flores
DID YOU KNOW?
We want to share an important update regarding our morning arrival procedures to support a strong and successful start to each school day.
Currently, we are averaging approximately 40 tardies each day. Being on time is essential, as the instructional day begins promptly at 7:35 a.m., and students miss valuable learning time when they arrive late.
Our doors currently shut at 7:35 a.m. Any student arriving after this time is considered tardy.
Beginning in the 2026–2027 school year, we will implement an additional procedure:
Families will be required to park and walk their child into the building to sign them in if they arrive after 7:35 a.m.
This adjustment will help:
*Reinforce the importance of arriving on time
*Ensure accurate attendance procedures
*Provide a smooth and safe transition into the school day
We understand that occasional tardies may happen, and we appreciate your partnership in helping your child arrive on time each day. Establishing consistent morning routines can make a big difference in your child’s success.
Thank you for your continued support of Forest Creek Elementary.

A Note About STAAR
STAAR is one way we measure student learning and progress throughout the year. It provides us with helpful information about how students are performing on grade-level expectations and where we can continue to support their growth. STAAR is only one data point and does not determine whether a student is promoted to the next grade level.
We want to reassure families that this test does not define a child’s abilities, potential, or future success. Every student has unique strengths, talents, and ways of learning that cannot be captured in a single assessment. Success in life is built over time through perseverance, creativity, relationships, and a love of learning, not one test score.
Our goal is always to support the whole child. Classroom performance, daily effort, growth throughout the year, and teacher feedback all play an important role in understanding each student’s progress.
We encourage you to help your child:
Stay calm and confident
Focus on doing their personal best
Lunch Visitors on Testing Days
Please note:
If a grade level is still testing during lunch, students will eat in their classrooms
We ask that families do not come to campus for lunch on STAAR testing days
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students feel confident and prepared. We are proud of all their hard work this year!
Best,
Charlene Dabney

Career Day Coming Soon: Careers On Wheels Presenters Needed
|
Dear FCE Community Parents and Partners,
Forest Creek Elementary is excited to host our upcoming Career Day on May 8th from approximately 8:00–11:00 AM, and we are currently looking for enthusiastic presenters to help make this event a meaningful experience for our students.
For our Careers On Wheels portion of Career Day for our Kinder through 2nd-grade students, we are seeking individuals whose careers involve the use of trucks or specialized vehicles. This could include, but is certainly not limited to, careers such as firefighters, law enforcement officers, construction workers, electricians, delivery drivers, food truck operators, and many more. If your profession uses a vehicle as part of the job, we would love for you to share your experience with our students!
Presenters will have the opportunity to:
Showcase their vehicle
Talk about their career and daily responsibilities
Inspire students by sharing skills, education, and pathways related to their job
Our goal is to expose students to a wide variety of careers and help them begin thinking about their future in an engaging, hands-on way.
As a token of our appreciation, lunch will be provided for all presenters at the conclusion of Career Day.
If you are interested in participating or would like more information, please complete the Google Form below. We would love to have you join us!

Thank you for helping us make a difference in the lives of our students.
Warm regards, Shari Sanders School Counselor Forest Creek Elementary
