Forest Creek Elementary - Round Rock ISD

Good evening, FCE!

It was a fast and full week on campus, but also a great one! I hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend and had the opportunity to spend time with loved ones and enjoy the beautiful weather.

On Tuesday, our staff kicked off our morning together with a hearty breakfast before diving into meaningful conversations about our campus data. As a team, we reflected on where we are and identified next steps to continue growing, both as professionals and in how we support each student.

Our teachers thoughtfully planned targeted interventions and differentiated supports to ensure we continue making progress toward our goals for the remainder of the year.

We have many exciting events happening this month and next, so be sure to keep reading and join us for the fun.

Thank you for being part of the Coyote Family.

Best,

Briana Flores

DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that in the book The Teacher Who Believed in Me by David K. Hatch and Muriel T. Summers, students share how powerful it was when teachers truly listened to them?

When students felt heard and understood, they built confidence, took academic risks, and began to believe their voice truly mattered. Strong relationships were formed when teachers took time to listen, and those relationships became the foundation for growth.

At Forest Creek, this connects directly to our HOWL expectations, especially:

H – Honor Myself & Others

We show respect for different perspectives.

We honor the experiences, cultures, and stories each person brings.

When students feel understood, they are more willing to engage, collaborate, and persevere. By living out HOWL every day, our Coyotes build empathy, strengthen relationships, and develop leadership skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

L – Listen & Be Heard

We teach students to listen with empathy, patience, and respect.

We create classroom spaces where every voice is valued.

We encourage thoughtful communication between students, staff, and families.

At Forest Creek, we don’t just teach academics; we teach students that their voice matters. 🐺💚

Safety & Arrival/Dismissal Reminders

School Zone Safety
Please slow down and follow posted speed limits during arrival and dismissal.

Car Rider Line

During afternoon dismissal, if you are waiting in the car rider line on Harvey Penick coming from Links Ln., please remember to stay as far left as possible near the yellow lines on the road. This helps ensure that other vehicles are able to safely pass on the right side and keeps traffic flowing smoothly for our community.

Pull all the way forward in both the front and back loops to help us unload and load cars efficiently.

Crosswalks & Walking Students
Do not block crosswalks, and always follow staff and crossing guard directions. Students who walk or bike must wait for an adult before crossing.

Bus Safety
Never pass a school bus when the lights are flashing or the stop sign is extended.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Locations
Students may only be dropped off or picked up in the designated front or back loops. Please do not use side roads, the marquee area, or near portables.

Arrival Time
Instruction begins at 7:35 a.m. Please help your child arrive on time so they do not miss learning.

Early Pick-Up
All early checkouts must occur before 2:20 p.m. After this time, we are unable to accommodate early pick-ups due to dismissal procedures.

Dismissal Expectations
Please avoid cell phone use in the pick-up line, remain in your vehicle, do not skip lines, and help students buckle independently to keep traffic moving.

Visitor Procedures
All visitors must check in with a valid ID and wear a visitor badge. Please do not hold doors open for others.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep Forest Creek safe, efficient, and welcoming for all.
