Dear Canyon Creek Families,

It’s been a great week at CCE. We hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday weekend and we will see you back at Canyon Creek on Tuesday, September 2nd.

Quick reminder of our Back to School Night next Thursday, September 4th. Schedule as follows:

5:00 - FCC (classroom), FAC (classroom), and TAG (Library)
5:30 - 1st (classroom), 4th (classroom), and 5th (Library)
6:00 PTA Meeting (Cafeteria)
6:30 - Following PTA Meeting - Kinder (library), 2nd (Cafeteria) and 3rd (classroom)

A Big Thank You to PTA

Last Friday our PTA provided Sonic drinks for our teachers. It was a refreshing treat to sum up our first full week of school! Thank you to the PTA for organizing all the drinks for our CCE staff. We appreciate you!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

A new state law, Senate Bill 12, requires school districts to notify families about the health services we provide and to collect your permission before your child can receive these services at school.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Starting September 1, 2025, we must have your opt-in consent on file before school staff, including nurses, teachers, counselors, social workers, and in some cases, coaches, can provide health-related services for your child.

Without consent, staff will not be able to perform even basic care, such as taking a temperature for a sick child or cleaning a scraped knee.

  • In an emergency, staff will always provide care, even without consent.

You have received an email from PowerSchool with instructions to update your child’s registration forms. If you have not received an email from PowerSchool, please check your spam or junk folders or contact your school's office.

  • The form includes two separate questions: one for health services and one for mental health services. You may choose to opt in for either, both, or neither, depending on your preferences.

Please take a few minutes to complete the form once you receive the notification. This ensures your child can continue receiving the health services you approve during the school day.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this important update.

KINDER LINES THAT WIGGLE
Our newest Comet artists began painting their lines this week. We read a monster story with all kinds of lines and then made our masterpieces. We know you will enjoy them through Artsonia. If any parents would like to volunteer with taking photos of their work, please email me. mary_weir@roundrockisd.org

Thank you- Ms. Weir

Pie grant

Mrs.Connair is blessed to be the recipient of a Partners in Education (PIE) Grant! This project will integrate KUBO Coding Math Kits into K-5 classrooms and small group sessions, with a strong focus on K-2, to enhance math instruction through hands-on, play-based learning. KUBO's screen-free robots use tangible coding tiles that align with foundational math concepts and TEKS such as sequencing, number recognition, patterns, spatial awareness, and problem-solving. Early learners often struggle to engage with abstract math ideas; this project addresses that need by making learning interactive, visual, and developmentally appropriate. By combining math and coding, the project fosters critical thinking, collaboration, and perseverance while reinforcing key math standards.
