Dear Canyon Creek Families,

Our first week at CCE was fabulous! The Welcome Walk, the Back-to-School Fling, Supply Drop-Off, and the first week of school were all huge successes! It was such a joy to see familiar faces returning and to welcome so many new friends into our community.

A huge thanks goes out to our amazing PTA for organizing school supply orders and distribution, hosting the Back-to-School Fling, and putting together our annual Coffee & Kleenex for our new kindergarten parents. We also loved the beautiful decorations for each of these events—they helped make the start of the year extra special. Your countless volunteer hours make such a positive difference and help CCE run smoothly.

We’re looking forward to another wonderful year of learning, friendship, and fun!

DISMISSAL REMINDERS
Car Riders - Please be sure to have your family number visible in your vehicle for afternoon pick up. If you need additional tags please let your teacher know or come to the front office. Your car tag should hang on your rearview mirror until your child is in your car. When driving in the car rider line, we please ask that you do not get out of your vehicle. 

Walkers - For Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade will also need their number to be released as a walker unless you have worked out different arrangements with your teacher. We are asking parents/guardians to not crowd the exit doors so that we can quickly and efficiently dismiss students from the building. 

BUS - This year CCE will have TWO Yellow RRISD School Buses picking up students on the Kindergarten Car Rider side. Please make sure to leave room for these two buses. They will pick up before the Dismissal Bell at 2:55. Our buses MUST BE first in line. You will be asked to loop around if you are ahead of the RRISD School bus.

Please arrive before 3:05 to pick up your student(s), if you arrive after they will be in the front office and you will need to park and come to the front door and your emergency contact will be notified.

No Phones in School Zones – It’s the Law! It’s Dangerous. It’s Illegal. It Can Wait.
In Texas, using a handheld cell phone while driving in a school zone is illegal. This means drivers cannot text, scroll or make calls on a handheld device while passing through a school zone during restricted hours.

Playground Notice
The school playground is reserved by the YMCA and is not available for public use during their scheduled times. 2:55p.m - 6:30p.m. Thank you for respecting this reservation and helping us keep the area safe and organized.

Chromebook distribution is in full swing! ITS' have been busy supporting distribution across the district! Mrs. Connair was able to get 5th grade into her schedule and all our 5th graders will have the new Chromebooks! 2nd-4th will recieve theirs in the coming weeks and K-1st will have the remainder of the orignial model in-warrantly Chromebooks. All students will have reviewed the Acceptable Use Policy and review device expectations per the Device Agreement. Additionally FAC, FCC, and Fine Arts classrooms received new iPads. All these refreshes were made possible with the passing of the bond. We are so excited to have these updates in our students hands!
4th & 5th grade families, please be sure to review expectations for at home use and set up routines to remember to bring a CHARGED Chromebook to school EVERY day.
