Dear Canyon Creek Families,
It’s hard to believe we are already in the middle of April—this school year is flying by! This week brought our second round of STAAR testing, with our 5th graders completing the Science assessment. Next week will be our final STAAR administration, as all 3rd–5th grade students complete the Math assessment.
Even with STAAR underway, our campus is still full of exciting learning and activities. Our 3rd graders have begun their scavenger hunt, 1st grade students have been hard at work rehearsing for their performance next week, and we continue to eagerly observe our baby chicks as hatching continues! 2nd grade out did themselves with a phenomenal living museum presentation!
Our final PTA meeting of the year will also take place next week. We hope you will join us as we thank our outgoing officers for their dedication and welcome our new leadership team.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to seeing everyone back at CCE on Monday. It’s amazing to think we only have five weeks of school remaining!

CCE Field Day is a whirlwind of smiles and sunshine, featuring energetic activities like tetherball and tug-of-war. Students build teamwork, practice sportsmanship, and celebrate the end of the school year with creative outdoor games.
We need volunteers to help make this day a success!

STAAR testing is here! The State Assessment of Academic Readiness, better known as the STAAR test, will be administered April 8th, April 15th, and April 22nd to students in grades 3, 4, and 5.
The testing schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, April 22 Math - Grades 3, 4, 5
Please remember:
* Testing will begin first thing in the morning.
* We are testing in every area of the building, so visitors will not be allowed beyond the front office.

Westwood High School Cheer is excited to host our first Summer Cheer Camp July 14-16, and we’d love you to join us!The camp is open to incoming Kindergarten through 6th graders and provides a fun opportunity for young cheerleaders to learn skills from our Westwood Cheer team.
Dates: July 14–16
Eligibility: Incoming K–6th Grade
Program Options & Pricing:
-Full day: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, $250
-Half day: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM, $125
