Notes from the CCES Office & Admin |
March 6, 2026 Dear Canyon Creek Families, Happy March! It has been a fun-filled and exciting week here at CCE. Our kindergarten students had beautiful weather for their Sweet Berry Farm field trip and made wonderful memories together. A big thank you to all our volunteers who made the trip to the farm with us! Third grade celebrated “3-3 Day” with engaging learning activities and lots of schoolwide fun.
We also kicked off our Spring Running Club after school and enjoyed a refreshing Kona Ice Day — always a student favorite! This afternoon, our PTA will host our annual Multicultural Fair, and we hope to see many of you there as we celebrate the diverse cultures that make our Canyon Creek community so special. Thank you for your continued support. Have a wonderful weekend! CCE Team |

GoGuardian / Beacon After Hours and Non-Instructional Day Notifications |
To support student safety, digital citizenship, and social-emotional well-being, Round Rock ISD partnered with GoGuardian this fall to implement the Beacon digital monitoring system. Beacon helps district and campus staff monitor student online activity during the school day to identify potential safety concerns and provide timely support when needed.
School-day monitoring hours in Beacon are 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on instructional days. On those non-instructional days, district staff will not actively monitor Beacon notifications.
Outside of school hours, and during weekends, holidays, and school breaks, parents and guardians may continue monitoring their student’s online activity by using the GoGuardian Parent Mobile App. The Beacon system allows district staff and parents to view: - Student online browsing activity, and - Activity within the student’s district Google account. When enabled, Beacon generates notifications for online activity that may indicate that a student could benefit from additional support.
Parent Monitoring Encouraged Parents and guardians are encouraged to download the GoGuardian Parent App to continue monitoring their students’ online activity during Winter Break and throughout the year outside of school hours or on non-instructional days. Thank you for partnering with us to support student safety and well-being, both online and offline.

Reminders for Event RSVPs & Campus Visitors |
When submitting your RSVP to volunteer for school events—such as field trips, classroom celebrations, or special events (coffee chats, etc) —please make sure to enter your name as it appears on your legal form of identification (driver's license, passport). This helps us speed up the check-in and approval process. Thanks for your support! |
When visiting our school—whether you're picking up a student, meeting with a teacher, joining your child for lunch—please make sure to bring a physical ID with you. Photos of your ID on your phone won’t be accepted. Thanks for helping us keep everyone safe! |

March 9-13, 2026 is Education Go Get It Week (EGGI Week) at Canyon Creek! EGGI Week is a week to focus on exploring and learning about the wide variety of post-secondary opportunities and career choices available in the future for our students. While of course our students don't need to have their future plans set in stone at this early age, it's never too early to start learning about the many, many options that are out there! Canyon Creek plans to celebrate EGGI Week with the following activities:
THEME: "It’s never too early to start dreaming...don’t forget to DREAM BIG!"
Monday: Build a strong educational foundation for the future. What to wear: Your CCE School Shirt.
Tuesday: Show your spirit for higher education and training opportunities. What to wear: A college, military, or post-secondary education t-shirt.
Wednesday: Show off your interview skills to get that dream job. What to wear: Fancy interview clothes (think school picture day).
Thursday: Imagine you’ve landed your dream job (doctor, teacher, lawyer, etc.). What to wear: Your future career gear.
Friday: Celebrate the "sweet life" of retirement and 5th-grade National Parks presentations. What to wear: Retirement gear (e.g., hiking clothes). |
* Classroom Counseling Lessons: During this round of guidance lessons, Mrs. Hougham will teach career exploration classroom counseling lessons to help students start thinking about higher education options and careers.
* CCE Staff Graduation Photos: We will have a display of CCE staff photos from their graduations (high school, college, graduate school, Kindergarten?) for kids to look at – education is so valuable!
* Career Paper Dolls (optional at-home activity): In the March 3rd Tuesday folder, students will receive a paper doll they can decorate with what they want to be when they grow up. If they’d like to see it displayed in the hallway, please send it back to school!
* Parent Career Selfies (optional parent activity): Also in the Tuesday folder, students will receive a “Parent Career Selfie” half sheet. If you’d like, please complete the activity by including a picture of yourself working at your job and writing your favorite part of your job. Please send this to school if you’d like Mrs. Hougham to add your Parent Career Selfie to a hallway display!

Learning.com Keyboarding Challenge 2026 has begun!!!
The online STAAR tests require typing skills as early as 3rd grade. In testing, the stronger a student's keyboarding skills, the more time they can devote to improving the quality of the their response! Our campus is registered to participate and all 3rd-5th student accounts have been loaded. Teachers can decide to have it as an activity during class or students can work on it on their own. The contest evaluates the number of students, words per minute, and accuracy during the window from Feb 10-March 31!
Last year we were Texas top finishers!!! This year the info came to me late so we are a little behind, but I it will be great to see those minutes, accuracy, and speed ramping up!
STUDENTS: -Log into Classlink, select the Learning.com icon. -Once in Learning.com, log in with student ID/"s number" as your username and your student ID WITHOUT THE "S" as your password -Example: Username: s123456 Password: 123456
Once you are logged in, make your way to the button that say "ARCADE" You can always still work on class assigned lessons but the contest will be looking at this activity first! |
