This week was full of excitement with our annual Thanksgiving Lunch, a fun 3rd-grade field trip to Westwood High School for a theater performance, engaging learning across classrooms, and our Essentials Turkey Trot. It’s hard to believe that when we return from the break, it will already be December!
We wish you a restful, joy-filled holiday, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at CCE on Monday, December 1st!
A heartfelt thank you to our PTA and to all the families who donated a pie for each staff member. Your generosity means so much, and we are truly grateful!

Note Regarding Thanksgiving Lunch |
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Thank you for your patience and understanding during Wednesday’s Thanksgiving Lunch and the unfortunate challenge of running out of food. Your kindness, flexibility, and positive attitudes truly meant so much.
Our office staff works incredibly hard to ensure the logistics and organization of this event run smoothly—from preparing badges for families who RSVP, to managing our systems in order to print badges quickly for those in need of a badge, to setting up additional tables, strategically creating additional staff duties so families can enjoy outdoor seating and maintaining a safe environment for our students. We also meet with food services each year to provide feedback, share concerns, and support the planning process to help ensure that enough food is prepared based on RSVPs. We deeply appreciate the grace and goodwill you brought to the day, reflecting the true spirit of the Thanksgiving holiday.
We always strive to partner with our food service team to provide the best experience for our students and families. Using your feedback along with other logistical solutions, we will be rethinking how we approach this tradition in the future.
Thank you again for your partnership and understanding.

Third Grade enjoyed a presentation by Mr. Dan Ilani. He spoke about light energy and how we can harness light energy from the sun to power all our electrical needs. Did you know that the Sun produces more energy every second than humanity uses in a year? The presentation ended outside, where students got to see a solar cell panel power a fan.
Stone Soup is a folktale about the gift of sharing and what we can accomplish when we work together. Third grade read various versions of this folktale throughout the past few weeks and today, they made their own version of Stone Soup. It was a hit in the classrooms. And to think...it all started with just one stone!
