Dear Canyon Creek Families,

Wow, hard to believe we are half way into October! Our first marking period is over and we have started the second 9 weeks of school. Be on the lookout for your student(s) report card coming out next week in their take home folder.

Kinder-2nd students are required to complete 2 lessons at a passing rate and complete 30 minutes of iReady Math. 3rd-5th students are required to complete 2 lessons at a passing rate and complete 45 minutes of both iReady Math and iReady Reading. We try our best to have students complete this requirement at school, however sometimes we might need your support for completion. See below for more information on how to view your student’s progress and how to support them if they need to complete the 2 lessons passing and 45 minutes at home.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOU SUPPORT WITH THIS!

A big thank you to all our families who helped contribute to our Westwood VLC Sock Drive! We are happy to announce that Westwood won this friendly competition and Mrs. Campbell did not have to wear a McNeil jersey to the Volleyball game! Thank you again for supporting a great cause and WHS!

Don’t forget next Monday is a Staff and Student holiday! We hope you enjoy another 3 day weekend. We look forward to seeing you back at CCE on Tuesday as we kick off our Red Ribbon and Digital Citizen Week.

Enjoy the extended weekend! See you on  TUESDAY!

Reminders for Event RSVPs

When submitting your RSVP to volunteer for school events—such as field trips, classroom celebrations, or special events (coffee chats, etc) —please  make sure to enter your name as it appears on your legal form of identification (driver's license, passport). This helps us speed up the check-in and approval process.

Thanks for your support!

Reminder for Campus Visitors

When visiting our school—whether you're picking up a student, meeting with a teacher, joining your child for lunch—please make sure to bring a physical ID with you.
Photos of your ID on your phone won’t be accepted.

Thanks for helping us keep everyone safe!

HEALTHY LIVING WEEK Oct 21-24

Healthy Choices, Online and Off!

Get ready for a week of fun and important learning! This year, we're teaming up our Digital Citizenship Week with Red Ribbon Week from 10/21 to 10/24.

This combined initiative allows us to teach our students about making safe, healthy, and responsible choices in all aspects of their lives—from choosing to be drug-free to choosing to be kind and smart when using technology.

We encourage all students to participate in our daily dress-up themes! Please see the attached flyer for the theme schedule, and help your child prepare for a great week. We also encourage you to use this week as a chance to chat with your student about what it means to be a healthy human and a good digital citizen!

News from Westwood

softball

My name is Paul Thailing, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Head Softball Coach at Westwood High School. As we work to build a strong and successful program, we’re focusing on connecting with our future Warriors early and often.

To that end, we’re hosting a free softball clinic on Saturday, October 18th, and we’d love to invite your students to participate. I’ve attached an informational flyer with all the details. If you could help us share this opportunity through your newsletters, social media, or any other communication channels, it would mean a great deal to our team.

Additionally, if your campus is planning any pep rallies this year, we’d be thrilled to attend and briefly speak to help generate excitement about Westwood Softball among your students.

Thank you for your support, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
