October 10, 2025

Dear Canyon Creek Families,

We had a great second week of October! It’s been super busy with lots of learning. Love all the families on campus for teacher conferences. We hope when you leave your conference you feel informed on all your student’s learning. Thank you to all our families for your continued support and partnership.

A BIG shout out to PTA! We had a great Friday Feast! Thank you for the wonderful spread, you are greatly appreciated! AND… Last Friday we had our Cody Fisher Magic Show, thank you PTA for organizing a great fundraising event for our students and families.

Don’t forget next Monday is a student holiday! We should be nearing the end of our conferences, Monday is our district wide conference day for elementary campuses. If you have not scheduled a conference, please reach out to your teacher.

We hope you have a great 3 day weekend again! See you back at CCE on TUESDAY!

Reminders for Event RSVPs

When submitting your RSVP to volunteer for school events—such as field trips, classroom celebrations, or special events (coffee chats, etc) —please  make sure to enter your name as it appears on your legal form of identification (driver's license, passport). This helps us speed up the check-in and approval process.

Thanks for your support!

Reminder for Campus Visitors

When visiting our school—whether you're picking up a student, meeting with a teacher, joining your child for lunch—please make sure to bring a physical ID with you.
Photos of your ID on your phone won’t be accepted.

Thanks for helping us keep everyone safe!

HEALTHY LIVING WEEK Oct 21-24

Healthy Choices, Online and Off!

Get ready for a week of fun and important learning! This year, we're teaming up our Digital Citizenship Week with Red Ribbon Week from 10/21 to 10/24.

This combined initiative allows us to teach our students about making safe, healthy, and responsible choices in all aspects of their lives—from choosing to be drug-free to choosing to be kind and smart when using technology.

We encourage all students to participate in our daily dress-up themes! Please see the attached flyer for the theme schedule, and help your child prepare for a great week. We also encourage you to use this week as a chance to chat with your student about what it means to be a healthy human and a good digital citizen!

News from Westwood

softball

My name is Paul Thailing, and I’m excited to introduce myself as the new Head Softball Coach at Westwood High School. As we work to build a strong and successful program, we’re focusing on connecting with our future Warriors early and often.

To that end, we’re hosting a free softball clinic on Saturday, October 18th, and we’d love to invite your students to participate. I’ve attached an informational flyer with all the details. If you could help us share this opportunity through your newsletters, social media, or any other communication channels, it would mean a great deal to our team.

Additionally, if your campus is planning any pep rallies this year, we’d be thrilled to attend and briefly speak to help generate excitement about Westwood Softball among your students.

Thank you for your support, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

finance

The Westwood Finance Club is hosting a Financial Literacy Workshop this Saturday, October 11th, from 2-4 PM. We are inviting all of you and your students to attend. Westwood volunteers and Finance Club members will be teaching your students about two basic concepts of personal financial literacy: the danger of deceptive marketing and the basics of personal budgeting! The workshop will be overseen by Coach Kevin Beers.

All are welcome, we are looking to have 1st to 5th graders attend! Westwood Finance Club will be providing snacks and drinks for both students and parents alike. Using a presentation, interactive activities, games, and talented tutors, the club hopes to give your students a jumpstart on personal financial literacy.

If you are interested, please fill out the google form on tinyurl.com/ParentWorkshopForm11. For questions, feel free to email westwoodfinance24@gmail.com, or the Finance Club’s sponsor at kevin_beers@roundrockisd.org."
