A Note from the Principal

Hello, Blackland Prairie Families,

We are so excited for our annual PTA Carnival and can’t wait to see our families there! This event takes an incredible amount of planning, and we are so grateful to all of our volunteers for their hard work in making it such a special experience for our students and community. It is always a highlight of the year, and we look forward to celebrating together!

We also want to extend a big thank you to our amazing Wildcat DADS (Dads of Awesome Daughters and Sons) who came out to teach lessons to our Pre-K and Kindergarten students. Our youngest learners were so excited, and we had a wonderful turnout. We are truly thankful for the time and care our DADS invest in supporting our school.

Today, we celebrated our 1st grade-led Habit Rally, where students taught us all about Habit #6: Synergize, working together to create better results than we could on our own. Our 1st graders did an outstanding job leading with confidence, and we could not be prouder of their leadership and teamwork!

We hope you all had a wonderful week and look forward to seeing many of you at the carnival!

Did You Know?

Did you know Round Rock ISD offers an advanced math pathway for secondary school students, providing opportunities to take higher-level math courses and prepare for college and career success. This pathway opens doors for our students after graduation, including advanced college opportunities and a wide range of career choices.

This is why we are so focused on math as our Wildly Important Goal this year at Blackland Prairie. Building strong math skills now sets our students up for future success!

Be sure to ask your child(ren), “What is your math goal this year?” and have them share how they are working toward reaching it.

PTA is calling All Kinder & 5th Grade Parents! We’re gearing up for our Promotion Ceremonies and need a few helping hands to make these milestones extra special! If you’re a Kindergarten or 5th-grade parent and would like to serve on the Promotion Ceremony Committee, PTA would love your support. Interested? April 2 – School Librarian Day at BPE: Get Cozy & Read! Since we will be off on April 3, we will celebrate School Librarian Day on April 2. Join us as we honor our wonderful librarians, Mrs. Craig and Ms. Beth! Students are invited to wear their pajamas and enjoy a cozy day filled with reading.

April 6 –10 is Assistant Principal Week. Let’s celebrate our wonderful assistant principals, Mr. Fleming and Mrs. Vogel, by wearing your favorite team jersey or t-shirt on April 6th.

STAAR TESTING INFORMATION 2025-2026

All 3rd and 5th grade students will take the STAAR test on the following dates. Please ensure your child arrives no later than 7:35 AM on testing days. School opens at 7:10 AM.

Snack Guidelines and Support

In the video below, we are asking our families to support our snack guidelines for the school day. Students should have 1 snack per designated snack time (AM and PM) with only water in water bottles. NO JUICE. Thank you for supporting a clean and healthy environment for all of our students.
