Hello, Blackland Prairie Families,
This week, our students focused on Habit 5. This habit is all about "listening with your ears, eyes, and heart." It teaches us to listen to others' ideas and feelings without interrupting, helping us see things from their point of view.
Next time your child is sharing something with you, try practicing "Empathic Listening." Encourage them to explain their full thought before you respond, or ask them, "Can you tell me more about how that made you feel?" Modeling this patience helps them build stronger, more respectful relationships.
Our Canned Food Drive was a massive success! Thanks to your incredible donations, we were able to completely fill the back of a pickup truck to support our local food bank before winter break.
To celebrate hitting our goal, the administration team spent the day dressed as Minions! The students had a blast seeing us in our yellow gear. A special shout-out goes to our 3rd Graders, who won the grade-level competition by bringing in the most donations. They enjoyed a well-deserved popsicle to celebrate their hard work and big hearts!
We want to extend a huge "thank you" to our Wildcat DADS (Dads of Awesome Daughters and Sons). These volunteers were on campus today, teaching a special lesson to our second graders. Our students always light up when they see positive male role models in the classroom, and we truly appreciate you giving your time to our school.
As we prepare for the upcoming cold weather, please remember:
If your family needs assistance with winter coats or other resources, please reach out to our front office. We are here to help.
Please keep a close eye on all Round Rock ISD communication channels. Should the weather require any schedule shifts next week, updates will be sent via phone, email, text, and official social media pages.
Stay warm and have a wonderful weekend!
As always, stay safe and take care out on the Prairie!
