A Note from the Principal

Hello, Blackland Prairie Families,
As we wrap up testing season, we are cycling back to Habit #1: Be Proactive. This habit is all about taking ownership of our actions, choices, and learning. We are encouraging students to be leaders of themselves by making good decisions, staying organized, and taking initiative. Families can support this at home by encouraging children to complete responsibilities without reminders, reflect on their choices, and focus on what they can control each day.
We are so proud of our 3rd–5th grade students for their hard work and perseverance during STAAR testing. They showed determination, focus, and a commitment to doing their best. We are excited to have testing behind us and to finish the year strong!
There is so much to look forward to in the coming weeks, including Leadership Day, Wellness Day, Math-Reading Day, and our end-of-year celebrations. These events are a wonderful way to celebrate all of the growth, learning, and leadership our students have demonstrated this year.
We are also excited to celebrate our incredible volunteers at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast next Friday. We are so grateful for the time and support our volunteers give to our campus, and we hope all who have served this year will join us as we celebrate you!
As we head into these exciting final weeks, we ask for your partnership in reminding students to be safe, respectful, and responsible each day. By working together, we can ensure a fun, positive, and memorable end to the school year here on the Prairie.
Thank you for your continued support. We are grateful for our amazing Blackland Prairie community!
As always, stay safe and take care out on the Prairie!

Building The BPE Family Bond. Did You Know? Habit 6: Synergize ("Together is Better") is the very heart of why we invite you to Leadership Day.
When school, home, and community "synergize," magic happens. Leadership Day is our invitation to connect our core school values with our strongest partners—you. Our students are excited to not just show you their work, but to learn how you, too, are leaders. We are building a supportive, multi-generational community, just like the mascots featured in our event flyer.
Join the conversation. Be the difference in a student's day. We have a place for you! Click here to RSVP for Leadership Day on Friday, May 8th, 8:30-10:30 am.
